Begin your journey in Colombo, with a tranquil stay in Kotugoda, before heading to the ancient rock fortress in Sigiriya and the cultural heritage of Kandy. After immersing yourself in the region’s history, we’ll take you to Hatton, surrounded by lush green tea plantations, and then to the stunning beaches of Tangalle for some relaxation.
Our itinerary includes a visit to the historic city of Galle, known for its colonial past, before concluding the journey back to Colombo. Throughout the trip, you’ll be surrounded by stunning landscapes, beautiful beaches, and cultural landmarks, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka.

Discover Sri Lankan flavors and scenic splendor: Explore a picturesque rural village in Matale, where your planter host shares insights into trees, crops, local cuisine, and breathtaking views of the Aluvihare Mountains on this 15.5-acre Sri Lankan garden retreat.
Sunrise Expedition: Whale watching: Embark on an early morning adventure in Mirissa as you join a shared catamaran for an unforgettable whale-watching tour.

Arrive at Colombo International Airport (Flight booked directly and details to be advised).
“VIP Silk Route” arrival service at the airport (subject to airport security provisions).
“Meet and greet” and transfer by road to Kotugoda (approximately 20 minutes drive) and check-in at The Wallawwa Hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure / enjoy the facilities at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

A leisurely breakfast at the hotel
Transfer by road to Sigiriya for sightseeing (approximately 04 hours drive)
Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, was built on top of a huge boulder in the 5th century. A palace and a rock fortress was the hidden castle of King Kasyapa. Sigiriya consists of 1200 steps. The first part of the visit is a leisurely walk through the pleasure gardens.
After sightseeing, transfer by road to Kandalama (approximately 40 minutes drive)
On arrival, check-in at Heritance Kandalama Hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer by road to Kandy en-route visiting Matale (approximately 03 hours and 30 minutes drive including stop).
Visit a Sri Lankan garden in Matale. In a rural village in Matale, your planter host will teach you about the trees, crops, and local cooking styles as you journey around the farm.
The Sri Lankan garden is a particularly picturesque farm spread over 15 and a half acres towards the top of a mountain, so it boasts incredible views of the Aluvihare Mountains. You are greeted by your host with farm-sourced fresh juice and taken on a guided walk to learn about the garden’s collection of Sri Lankan produce, from pepper to papaya, cocoa to coconut, and mango to mahogany. After observing these crops growing, enjoy the fruits of the planters’ labour with a traditionally prepared rice and curry lunch.
You will visit the Temple of the Tooth relic on arrival in Kandy. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a world-renowned place of worship where the left Canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. The temple, venerated by thousands of local & foreign devotees and tourists daily, was named a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988.
After the visit, continue to drive to Kandy and check-in at Kings Pavilion Hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

In-time transfer to Kandy Railway station to board the train to Hatton (approximately 03 hours duration; timings to be advised closer to the date, and seats are subject to availability)
On arrival at Hatton, transfer to Ceylon Tea Trails Bungalow.
Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the hotel. Lunch and dinner at the bungalow. Overnight at the bungalow.

Breakfast at the hotel
Join the other residents in the bungalow for a shared experience of a visit to a tea plantation and factory with a resident planter. The duration of the experience is approximately 01 hour and 30 minutes.
Hatton is a major centre of the Sri Lankan tea industry and is one of the busiest cities in the hill country of Sri Lanka and is colloquially known as the tea capital of the country.
The rest of the day is leisurely, enjoying the facilities at the bungalow, lunch, and dinner.

Transfer by road to Tangalle (approximately 06 hours and 30 minutes drive)
On arrival, check-in at Amanwella Hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer by road to Galle (approximately 02 hours drive)
On arrival, check-in at Amangalla Hotel.
Explore the famous Galle Fort with a local (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes)
The South Coast’s major city is Galle, whose oldest landmark is the massive Portuguese and Dutch Fort, a “World Heritage Site” in which the central city is contained.
The Dutch also installed a sophisticated drainage system with brick-lined underground sewers flushed twice daily by the high and low tides.

Transfer by road to Colombo en-route visiting Lunuganga (approximately 03 hours drive including stop).
Geoffrey Bawa is Sri Lanka’s most prolific and influential architect. These days Lunganga is a fully functioning hotel, and as such, some areas of the main house are off-limits, but one can still explore the gardens and public areas. Every turn in the house and extensive surrounding gardens is an interesting experience – with many exotic plants, trees, and views. The house itself is sparse but beautiful, full of impressive paintings and photographs of a bygone age.
We would recommend cool, light clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
Later, continue to drive to Colombo and check-in at Galle Face Hotel on arrival.
Rest of the day at leisure. Room reserved till departure.
Late evening in time, transfer to Colombo International Airport to board flight for onward destination.
